Sangeetha's journey with dance...

I was born to a traditional dance family. My mother Late Smt. Uma Venkitt was a promising Bharatanatyam dancer who had proven her mettle in dance in a very short span of her life. 
Started learning Bharatanatyam at the age of 5, under my parents Guru Smt. Preetha Venkitt and Guru Sri. Kalamandalam Venkitt. Later I took advanced training in Mohiniattam from Guru Smt. Preetha Venkitt and Guru Smt. Kalamandalam Padmini, a very well known Mohiniattam dancer/ Former Prinicipal of Kerala Kalamandalam.
I was trained in Kathakali by my Guru Sri Kalamandalam Venkitt and Guru Sri Kalamandalam Murali.
Later, I pursued my Masters in Performing Arts in Hyderabad Central University, specializing in Bharatanatyam under the guidance of Guru Sri Pasumarthi Ramalinga Sastry .
I got an opportunity to perform under the world famous Mohiniattam dancer Guru Smt. Bharati Shivaji in the well known production 'Swan Lake' held in Delhi, Kolkata, Narada Gana Sabha in Chennai and Russia.

I worked in Uma Memorial Kalalayam, Kolkata which is run by my parents, assisted them to train students and being part of their productions.
After moving to Singapore, I joined Apsaras Arts, as full time Stage Performer and Dance Instructor. With the mentorship of Smt. Neila Sathyalingam (Mami), Sri Aravinth Kumaraswamy and Sri Mohanapriyan Thavarajah, I was part of great productions like" Anjasa", "Alapadma", "Sita's Magical Forest","Heroines of Raja Ravi Varma"," Aadum Arul Jyothi","Agathi" and "Anjaneyam", which we presented in Singapore, Malaysia, India, United Kingdom and Sri Lanka.
